FFPs interventions in the rehabilition of housing for the poor focuses on saving failed structures and improving conditions for health and hygiene. FFP started its first major phase of housing rehabilitation in refugee camps throughout the West Bank in May, 2014. Implementation of the housing rehabilitation is done as "job creation" projects, under the supervision of FFP engineers and the popular committees of the refugee camps, and with both parties cooperating to identify target households. The project included the rehabilitation of 7 homes in New Askar Refugee Camp.
